Outdoor learning - The Forth and Clyde Canal

We visited the Forth and Clyde Canal as part of our Social Studies topic. We took the bus from Campsie Cross to Catherine Street, Kirkintilloch. First we visited the Hillhead Basin to see the swing bridge. We then walked along the Canal to the Stables where we had a rest and our lunch.

  • Beautiful bluebells growing in the wild.
  • An elegant swan gliding along the Canal.
  • A butterfly caught in motion.
  • Lily pads floating on the Canal.
  • A resting dragonfly.
  • A swan sitting on its nest.
